Dear Town of Cornwall Residents:
I am writing to you today on behalf of all residents of the Town of Cornwall. We have continually received complaints from residents in all areas of the Town regarding the speed of traffic and the lack of attention paid to regulatory traffic signage, i.e. Stop Signs.
The Town and the RCMP would appreciate your assistance in addressing this matter. We encourage you to drive responsibly and to reinforce this with members of your family. We also encourage you to report specific incidents to the Town or RCMP.
The Town realizes it is difficult to determine who may have been driving any particular vehicle at any given time; however, a general description of the vehicle or a license plate number can go a long way in assisting the RCMP.
We wish to work with our residents in ensuring our Town is as safe as possible for motorists and pedestrians, and in this regard will continue to forward concerns to the RCMP and will be purchasing enhanced policing service specific to traffic enforcement in the near future.
On behalf of the Town of Cornwall and concerned residents I thank you for your cooperation and encourage you to contact me with any questions/concerns/comments you may have on this matter.
Mayor Minerva McCourt
