Quality of Life
The Town of Cornwall is committed to the health and active living of its residents. Cornwall’s Recreation Department offers a wide range of programs and activities for residents. In 2010, the Town officially opened the Terry Fox Sports Complex featuring a football turf field, soccer turf field, baseball and softball field, four tennis courts (two with flex court surfaces that double as basketball courts and will be flooded for an outdoor skating rink), two beach volleyball courts, a toboggan hill, clubhouse and 2.2 kilometres of walking trails that will be groomed for cross-country skiing in the winter. Cornwall has a medical clinic, two dental clinics, one pharmacy, and a veterinary clinic. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown is a mere 15-minute drive away. Cornwall is especially proud of the school system in our Town. Westwood Primary is home to kindergarten through grade 3, Eliot River Elementary houses grades 4-6 and East Wiltshire Junior High provides the educational setting for grades 7-9. Senior High students attend Bluefield High School, a five minute bus ride from the edge of Town.
